Well, folks, it’s been a year since I launched this blog. One of my original main goals for this space was to create an online memory box for myself and I can say I’ve truly accomplished that. It’s so fun for me to occasionally go back and read a few old posts and see photos from past experiences. I love having a little online journal with curated photos, experiences, and thoughts!
So I’m going to keep blogging in 2017, with one major change…I’ll be switching to blogging on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays instead of daily.
When I first started blogging, I aimed to post daily because my fear was that I’d start this blog and then never post here. I announced the start of my blog publicly and set that ambitious goal to actively try to combat that. And it worked! I ended up writing 249 posts in my first year of blogging.
Moving forward, though, MWF is a consistency I feel a lot more comfortable committing to this year. In the latter half of 2016, I just started failing big time at posting daily. The amount of time I have to put into blogging daily varies greatly month to month and, if I’m honest, I don’t think it’s good if I do have enough time to blog daily.
Now that I’ve been in San Francisco over a year, my social life and activities outside of work have grown, in addition to me wanting to continue regularly making YouTube videos, going on travel adventures with family and friends, writing fiction, etc.
Time is finite. Actively investing in new experiences and my relationships with people in real life, as well as my other creative projects, is much more important to me than striving to reach an unrealistic blogging goal.
So on we charge into 2017 with a new MWF goal! Hope you’ll keep journeying with me this year 🙂
